Our New Home | Cupcakes and Sprinkles!

I love these days off in my new home. I thought I’d spend a moment to share with you the lovely day I’ve had. The first lovely thing to happen this morning: I received a gorgeous hand-made ‘new home’ card in the post, although I’m not at all happy with our postman who literally scrunched it all up to get it into our letter box. Now, It’s a normal sized letter and letter box so I don’t know why he had such a problem!? I shall be complaining to Royal Mail anyhow because it meant that the beautiful card was all crumpled up. image-2Mum had arranged for me to look after my younger brother & sister this afternoon while she went swimming, so i decided to make some cupcakes so that we could ice them together when they came over. After whipping up a batch (and them rising very successfully in the oven- yes!!) I left them on the side to cool while I went off to work for a couple of hours. When my siblings arrived they were both very excited to see the cupcakes, my brother especially because he wants to be a chef when he’s older and loves baking and cooking at any opportunity. I had picked out a variety of food colours and some sprinkles also which was fun. Here is the result. We were all very proud. :) image-3 So that was basically my day. Thank you all for reading! I now have to go and clean up a hundred million ‘Hundreds and Thousands’ that have gotten everywhere. There were definitely more on the worktop and floor than on the cupcakes. screen-capture-7

Our New Home | Red & White Kitchen

Sunday was part one of ‘The Big Move’. We loaded up our cars full of kitchen utensils, appliances and cleaning products and made our way to our new house.

The kitchen is almost complete apart from the tiling and a few extra bits such as flooring (fiancé is a flooring fitter so thats always helpful) but other than that it’s all ready and waiting. First thing was to wipe down our cupboards and kitchen surfaces. For this we used Flash Liquid Gel – All Purpose Cleaner which is quite honestly amazing stuff. It has a cap on the bottle so that you can’t use too much. I suppose it’s similar to that of a drink optic (sad that thats the only thing I could think of to compare it to, hah).

imageYou can see in the picture, we have white shiny cupboards a modern worktop and there are spaces for our dishwasher, washing machine & dryer. Everything looks so lovely & clean which I love cos I’m a total anti-bacterial freak!

A new guest in our kitchen. Meet our Voodoo knife block. You can buy yours from Firebox.com but hurry because there are only a few of them left and they’re currently 20% off too! Was £79.99 Now £63.99! Get yours here!

Our plates, as pictured above, are from the designer ‘Ben de Lisi’ purchased from Debenhams. However, from my extensive internet searches it seems that they are unavailable to purchase (which is a shame because I would love to get my hands on a couple more bowls). You can get white ones though if you are interested in the style.

The Cook’s Collection Trays (top left) are a Sainsbury’s miracle. I love them. They are such brilliant quality and really heavy too; prices range from £7-£15 per item and that may seem a little pricey but as soon as you pick one up you’ll know it’s worth it. Just by reading through the reviews, it becomes apparent that they’re really good! The same goes for our copper bottom pans (top right) also Sainsbury’s. Pricey but an investment!

The Prestige 5 Piece Pan Set in Red (bottom right) was an absolute steal from Argos! I believe you can only get these particular pans in black now, however you can’t really go wrong for £54.99. Link is here!

This De’Longhi microwave (900w) was a present bought for us by our family. Purchased from Argos for £79.99, it’s a great addition to our red themed kitchen. It makes me so happy whenever I look at it and it even has a pre-set program especially for popcorn – it knows me so well!

image-6

Our luck didn’t just stop there, we also received a Kenwood KMix Food Processer in Red. (FPX931) It has a 3 litre capacity and has all the trimmings. The cheapest I could find online is £159.99 from cheapelectricals.co.uk it looks to be a good food processor, the reviews are really good and I can’t wait to use it!

image-3

The final thing to show you is our amazing, super buy mugs! They are a pretty good match to our plates and dishes but a fraction of the price. A set of 4 mugs will set you back only £5.99 from Argos. Get yours here.

Thanks for stopping by, have you bought any beautiful colour items for your kitchen? If so, let me know! I’d love to see what you’re kitchens are like.

SUKI STYLE

Those eyes, that personality, that trademark hair (not to mention her current boyfriend *cries into pillow because Bradley Cooper is now taken*) – what could Suki Waterhouse possibly do to make us love her even more? Well she’s only gone and got her own classy, fun and undoubtedly enviable style.

After trawling through endless Twitter pictures and Instagram posts of the beautiful Model/Actress, I feel like I can finally dig myself out of my pit of Waterhouse Worship –even her little sister has serious style! – and talk about her style with a level head.

One thing I love is that Suki’s style can go from true Burberry Model Chic to Quirky Girl Next Door from day to day. It’s a relatable style that you can aspire to and also recreate with your own clothing.

I’ve picked some of my favourite outfits that Suki wears and recreated them using similar clothes from high street stores.

SUKI WATERHOUSE 1

I love this first outfit because it’s formal but also fun. The monochrome suit keeps it classy but means you can dress it up with a colour block in the orange bag. Obviously, you can choose any colour bag to make the outfit exciting, but I adore this orange bag from Topshop. To finish the outfit off, Sukis’ gone for some burgundy platforms, which will also give you a bit of extra height and a bonus confidence boost! You can wear this outfit for most formal occasions and you’ll look smart and approachable at the same time!
MONKI MONOCHROME MATCHING SUIT from ASOS
BAG from Topshop
SHOES from Office
BLOUSE from River Island

suki 2 This outfit is so fun and it really shows off the adventurous side of Suki’s style. I think this outfit goes from day to night so easily – to dress it down in the day time you could add some casual trainers like converse, then at night bring out these cute Topshop heels!
BLOUSE from Bershka
SKIRT from American Apparel
SHOES from Topshop
BAG from Newlook
SUNGLASSES from Urban Outfitters

Suki is even able to work a little black dress in the next outfit but again it’s not your average little black dress. I love the fact that it’s using lace textures and cut outs in one outfit. To create this look I’ve used a lace overlay from ASOS and a cut out dress from Topshop. I love the addition of the Union Jack flag on her Creepers, just shows how much of a true Brit she is.
T-SHIRT LACE DRESS from ASOS
BROWN SHOPPER BAG from Miss Selfridge
UNION-JACK CREEPERS from Daisy Street
BRALET BODY CON DRESS from Topshop

I absolutely love Suki’s style and will definitely be trying out some of her looks myself! By doing a bit of high street hunting, you can easily recreate her different styles.

L’Oreal Paris: Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation

nudemagiquePros: Silky smooth and so light. It feels like a face serum rather than a foundation. Works well with oily or combination skin and even good with dry skin. Works well with or without a moisturiser and primer. Good coverage.

Cons: The liquid is very runny! It will try and spill everywhere. You have been warned.

Screenshot 2014-02-04 19.06.08I’m engageimified!  :P

And we’ve already started planning the wedding. (Infact working in the wedding industry like I do has really helped in knowing and organising what I want for the big day.) We’ve booked it at a large hotel/manor for October this year! A big family, friends and children orientated autumnal wedding for us!
Eeeeek *excited face*
